2018 Syrah Estrella

The Estrella clone represents the most significant Syrah clone found on California’s central coast. First planted on our estate in 1978, as the Black Bear Block, Estrella has become known as the signature 

Syrah clone of our vineyard. To honor the several generations of Estrella plantings on our estate ranging from 1978 to 2012, our winemaking team created this very special single clone Syrah.Perhaps the most versatile clone of Syrah on our estate, Estrella is the cornerstone of many of our Syrah bottlings. Our 2018 Estrella Syrah presents an intriguing nose expressive with notes of bramble, black olive, toasted oak, cassis, and dried bay leaf. Juicy flavors of blackberry and grilled plum provide fresh acidity to a densely textured palate that is notably framed by fine-grained tannins. With optimum cellar aging, the components will harmonize to unveil a remarkable reflection of Syrah from our special site.
